Dr. Nicole Myers, Associate Professor of Education, earned a Ph.D. in special education and in counseling and development from George Mason University. Dr. Myers teachers courses on such topics as collaboration, educational psychology, human development, characteristics of mental retardation, emotional disturbance and learning disabilities, elementary and secondary special education methods, exceptional students, education research, inclusive strategies, transitions in special education, advanced counseling theories, and a variety of practicum and student teaching courses.

Dr. Myers is active in her field. She has just recently written an Op Ed piece for the Fredericksburg Free Lance Star entitled, Support the differences and exceptionalities.
